Bringing the Swedish city of Gothenburg into the metaverse
Virtual technology and fostering deep connections in real life might not sound like synonyms at first. However, the creative visionaries of Gothenburg & Co beg to differ. Enter the Goteverse and venture through some of the most iconic central spots of the bustling Swedish city of Gothenburg.
Visiting the digital twin of the city allows the audience to visualize how future cities can utilize virtual technologies to provide smarter services, showcase new initiatives and generally make the city more accessible for everyone.
In the future, all cities have digital twins

Tales of two cities
Together with the client and our partners, we built a narrative around Gothenburg's main sights and locations. We then visualized the collected imagery of the city in 3D, bringing the digital twin to tangible virtual existence.
Goteverse is merely a cherry on top for some of our early adapting partners. The City of Gothenburg and Chalmers University have been quick to embrace the possibilities offered by the Unreal Engine and have already been working, experimenting and studying various simulations in the virtual Gothenburg since 2021.
From alpha phase to a full-fledged metaverse platform
“Even though this is just a teaser trailer, the effect is already quite evident. People are slowly starting to grasp the vision: shifting the conversation from why would we even need a Goteverse to how can we be part of it.”
